Design Statement
The original interior décor of Mano’s Restaurant dated back to the 80’s. The Owners’ original intention for the interiors portion of this project was simply to enlarge the entrance and update some of the interior finishes. The Interiors Group took it a few steps further by developing a strong design concept that truly encompassed what the client really wanted and needed to modernize the space. As a result, the project evolved into a full scale renovation that improved functionality, accessibility, and aesthetics.
Project Objectives
The design concept integrated the elements of earth, rain, and fire in an intriguing way. This was achieved both thematically with the application of classic materials, dramatic details, effective accent lighting and, literally with the striking ‘sunburst’ ceiling and sparkling crystal ‘rain’ feature in the dining area. The fire element becomes apparent immediately upon entry and also forms a part of the edgy lounge design. In the interests of sustainability and the desires of the client, the designers respectfully retained the original rustic stone and water feature while successfully integrating them with the new ‘earthy’ palette and modernized design.
The result is a new standard of quality for Mano’s Restaurant & Lounge and Saskatoon dining.
