Tanya Doran is the Western Canada Carbon Lead for Stantec Consulting. She brings an incredible passion to her work supporting the rapid reduction of carbon emissions in the built environment, demonstrating increase resilience against climate risks and a positive impact on the socio-ecological health of our communities. .

With over 30 years’ green experience as a key relationship builder and client focused problem solver; Tanya has a solid understanding of industry issues with knowledge from diverse perspectives. Tanya ensures teams apprised of all complexities and fast-paced changes of sustainability and green building, showcasing Stantec as a leader in the industry. Tanya considers the triple bottom line when applying the lens of sustainability and offers a unique perspective that resonates with tax payers, rate payers, and clients.

As a panelist of the Energy Efficiency Advisory Panel for the Government of Alberta, Tanya has proved her ability to analyze topics to focus engagement and deliver innovative solutions. In her previous role as the Executive Director for the Alberta Chapter - Canada Green Building Council, she promoted certifications and policy directions through leadership, programming and research.

Tanya believes performance is at the heart of what we do. She is dedicated to realizing the full potential of sustainability goals including life cycle cost, energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and human health and wellness—aligning with the client outcomes. Informed by evidence-based design research, Tanya focuses her leadership towards providing design environments that support human resilience, health, and wellness while delivering value through life cycle cost analysis and reducing consumption of energy and carbon, creating an opportunity for the health and wellbeing of occupants to flourish.

Tanya gives back to the sustainability community as the Founding Chair of the Smart, Sustainable, Resilient Infrastructure Association, Director of the Edmonton Climate Innovation Fund, and Chair of the NAIT Alternative Energy Advisory Committee.
